The Edmonton Oilers edged out the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, grabbing an early series lead. Despite going down 3-1 in the game, Edmonton continued to fight back and eventually tied the game on a goal from defenseman Mattias Ekholm.

Better late than never, Mattias Ekholm has rejoined the Edmonton Oilers on their path to a Stanley Cup Finals rematch against the Florida Panthers.

The player, of course, is Mattias Ekholm. He’s been sidelined with a lower-body injury since playing three shifts on April 11. That regular-season game represented his second attempt at getting back into the lineup.
