The nation of India and the world of marathon running was hit by tragedy this week as world famous marathon runner Fauja Singh was killed in a hit-and-run. But an arrest has now been made. According to journalist Gagandeep Singh,
On Monday, July 14, at around 3:30 p.m. local time, Singh, 114, was struck by a vehicle near his village, Bias, in India while crossing a road, according to the biographer. Singh's village was located near Punjab, India, in the northern part of the country, near its border with Pakistan.
Jersey's Jess Troy says she cannot believe she won an Island Games silver medal in the half marathon. Troy ran a personal best of 1:23:58 to finish second behind Isle of Man's Christa Cain in Orkney.
According to Wednesday’s latest registration numbers, there have been 1,188 registered overall, with 170 for the full marathon, 673 for the half marathon and 345 for the 5K.
