Kitayama’s 20 weekend birdies were the most by a PGA Tour winner in over two decades, and a lot of those were set up by some remarkable approach play. Kitayama led the field in SG: Approach the Green on both Saturday and Sunday, gaining eight strokes on the field in the final two rounds. He hit 16 of 18 greens both days.
“There’s definitely no quit in him; he grinds. He’s always believed in himself. He’s always chased it.” Daniel expressed about his brother. He helped Kitayama connect with Tim Tucker, who was beside Bryson DeChambeau when he won the 2020 U.S. Open.
