Former Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson will not be sealing an emotional return to the club this summer despite the Black Cats return to the Premier League. The Academy of Light graduate was in attendance to watch Regis Le Bris side end their eight year absence from the top flight with a 2-1 win over Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final.

Jordan Henderson is set to join Brentford following his departure from Ajax earlier this week.

Henderson had considerable interest from top clubs in England and Europe but Brentford have won the race to sign the former Liverpool skipper.
