It turns out, the man’s $1 ticket held a big surprise. It beat 1-in-962,598 odds to match all the numbers picked in the Aug. 13 drawing.

The visitor sat at a Dragon Link slot machine at the Aliante Hotel Casino Spa in North Las Vegas, the casino said in an Aug. 19 Facebook post. The gambler bet $7.50, hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen. Then a jackpot message appeared saying the player won $18,221.19 from the popular game.

A lucky gambler walked away from a Connecticut casino with a big jackpot prize. The visitor sat at a Monopoly Cash Wheel slot machine at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, the casino said in an Aug. 17 Facebook post. The player bet $5, hit spin and watched as the symbols flashed across the screen until a jackpot message appeared.

After there was no winner in Monday night’s drawing, Powerball’s jackpot has climbed to an estimated $643 million.

After betting less than a dollar, a Massachusetts casino player walked away with thousands in winnings. On Aug. 3, a woman bet 75 cents on the game “Ultimate Fire Link-Cash Falls” at Encore Boston Harbor.

The latest National Lottery EuroMillions jackpot was set to be the highest in UK history if someone was able to name all five numbers and the two lucky stars. The jackpot reached its cap of 250 million Euros – an estimated £210 million - for this latest draw. The winning numbers were 24, 31, 34, 41 and 43, while the lucky stars were 06 and 08.

The Powerball jackpot reached $605 million for Monday night's drawing after no winner emerged from Saturday's drawing, making it the biggest prize of the year.
