The speed and scope of the federal government's efforts to terminate the legal status of international students have stunned colleges and universities across the country.

In a stunning blow to international scholars who had hopes of studying in the United States, the Trump administration has revoked hundreds of student visas in nearly every corner of the country as part of a vast immigration crackdown.

More than 1,000 international students at 128 colleges and universities have had their visas revoked or their legal status terminated since mid-March.
