Greene got an extra day of rest during his most recent turn through the rotation of the Cincinnati Reds, however, with a postponed game and the MLB debut of Chase Petty giving him an extended chance to regroup. Regroup he did, and on Friday night against the Washington Nationals he turned in yet another dazzling performance.

In general, few Washington hitters survived to see the base path between first and second base. That was true after Greene exited the game, too, as Scott Barlow (one inning), Tony Santillan (one inning) and Emilio Pagán closed out the game in relief for Cincinnati.

Hunter Greene struck out 12, the second-highest total of his big league career, while allowing two hits over six innings and leading the Cincinnati Reds over the Washington Nationals 6-1.
