A federal appeals court on Tuesday rejected a proposed class action by eight Malian citizens who sought to hold Hershey , Nestle and five other companies liable for child labor on Ivory Coast cocoa farms.

Hershey's in May announced it would attempt to keep prices relatively low on its products by reducing the amount of product in each package, which would help the company maintain its bottom line through protecting margins, but still results in the cost of products by weight to increase.
