Happy Gilmore 2 has officially been released on Netflix on Friday, giving fans the sequel they've been waiting for since the original film was released in 1996.

Happy Gilmore 2 sees Adam Sandler's titular golfer return to the green to fund his daughter's ballet education in Paris.

Reviews have been middling in a way that’s typical of Sandler’s Netflix era: The Guardian described it as “strictly for the fans”, while The Hollywood Reporter called it “an exercise in fan service”.

“Happy Gilmore 2” releases on Netflix July 25, and the Adam Sandler-starring sequel is filled with familiar faces left and right.

Happy Gilmore 2 amassed 46.7 million views in the three days since its July 25 release, the biggest opening for any Netflix film featuring Sandler, Netflix said in a press release.
