The encounter came just four months after Trump and Zelenskyy clashed in a heated Oval Office confrontation on Feb. 28, in which Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance accosted the Ukrainian president, accusing him of being "disrespectful" and not "thanking" Trump for his support.

Zelenskyy and Trump held a strategic call addressing Ukraine's air defense needs, possible Patriot missile sales, as Russia continued its bombing campaign.
