Donated pets will be “gently euthanized” by trained staff and then used as “fodder” to take care of the well-being of predators, Aalborg Zoo said.

A zoo in Denmark is asking the public for any unwanted small pets or horses to feed its predators. The zoo said it's trying to mimic the natural food chain of its animals and all pets will be gently euthanized before being fed to the predators.

The Aalborg Zoo in Denmark said it would take certain surplus pets such as chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs to be "gently euthanized" and fed to its captive predators.
