Arizona Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burnes has been put on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation, two days after leaving a start early against the Washington Nationals.

The Diamondbacks may be dodging a bullet, as an injury to a pitcher's throwing elbow often leads to a season-ending shutdown. As Burnes is headed to the injured-list, the Diamondbacks will look to continue winning as they take on the Atlanta Braves in a three-game series that starts on Tuesday.

Arizona Diamondbacks' Merrill Kelly is set to start against the Washington Nationals on May 30 at Chase Field.
