Despite not relying on Iran for its oil supplies, petrol and other prices in Australia will rise due to the global impact of the Israel–Iranian war.

Fitch Ratings notes that the Israel-Iran conflict raises geopolitical risks but Israel's credit rating can absorb the impact. The conflict is expected to remain contained, and any rise in oil prices may benefit regional producers.

Qatar warned Tuesday that Israeli attacks on energy facilities in Iran will impact oil prices. "The attack on the Iranian side of the South Pars gas field is an uncalculated move that threatens energy security,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said during a press briefing in Doha.

Iran remains in economic crisis due to international sanctions over its nuclear program, which have limited its oil exports. The Iranian rial remains weak and inflation is stubbornly high at around 40%. Any further disruption to oil exports would ripple globally.
