Tourists in Crete, Greece have been made aware of another earthquake, which has again sparked a tsunami alert - just days after a similar scare on the holiday island

Greece sits on major fault lines and experiences frequent seismic activity, and is one of the most seismically active regions in Europe, situated along a complex fault boundary between the African and Eurasian tectonic plates.

A strong 6.1 magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of Crete, triggering tsunami warnings and emergency measures across southern Greece.
