California Senator Alex Padilla will introduce legislation on Monday that would provide a pathway to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants. The bill, dubbed “Renewing Immigration Provisions of the Immigration Act of 1929,

California Sen. Alex Padilla hopes to update the current cutoff date of the existing Immigration Act of 1929 to allow more individuals to obtain legalization.

California Republican National Committee member Shawn Steel said, “Most Americans will oppose Padilla’s bill.”
